I remember. We Canadians all thought JFK was the most wonderful president since Lincoln (about whom none of us knew but we heard great things, he said facetiously). Our entire highschool sat around the radio with tears flowing.
That was a dark day, I walked home from school for Thanksgiving vacation, the math teacher had told us in mid afternoon. He was popular with kids, it was a long walk.

ReplyDeleteThat's one event I don't want to remember. Same with the murder of RFK. Terrible wounds to the Country.
ReplyDeleteAs a 12 year old I had no idea how to react to such an event and had no idea what happens next. It was so surreal.
