Random thoughts about roadside art, National Parks, historic preservation, philosophy of technology, and whatever else happens to cross my mind.

Thinking about the economy
Started thinking about this song after seeing the homeless vet in a wheelchair begging at the intersection of Clairmont Road and I-85. Except he wasn't Vietnam era -- the kid looked to be in his early twenties. Really blond, really thin, and missing his left leg from the knee down.
This is what breaks my heart. The Korean and Vietnam Wars raged before I was born and continued for the first 20 years of my life.
I had hoped that the people of my generation would do ANYTHING to avoid subjecting our children to the scars, the pain and the devistations subjected to those sent to fight. But no. We are still as stupid as ever.
I feel queasy all the sudden.
