Random thoughts about roadside art, National Parks, historic preservation, philosophy of technology, and whatever else happens to cross my mind.

Remembering Charlie
Whenever I see a cartoon like this, I think about the Younger Daughter's dog Charlie. He was a lab mix and was always happiest when the weather was -- at least for humans -- not particularly nice.
Fortunately, my puppy, a Golden Retriever, disliked the really cold weather. When it would go below -30C (-22F) Muttley would step out, get 10 feet towards the back yard, stop, try to raise all four paws at once, look back at me, do her business then run back up to the door before I even got it closed. So much for the walk! There's always marshmallows in front of the fireplace to which to look forward though. Fair trade off we both reckoned.
