Ranger Bob has finally gotten around to explaining to the world how he wound up sharing his house with a whole herd of Newfoundlands. If you're a dog lover and you haven't heard the story before (and even if you have), you'll want to read The Thanksgiving Puppies.
Photo lifted from The Retread Ranger Station, of course.
Hey- thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe Rangers are very brave, patient people.
ReplyDeleteboy have i done that before..with 11 pitty bull dog puppies..and they all looked alike and i nearly had a breakdown figuring out who i fed and who needed to be fed..puppies..i love puppies.
ReplyDeleteI love puppies too
ReplyDeleteNo time in my life for dogs, it wouldn't be fair to the dog. The cats that where born in the yard a few years ago and had to be mothered when their mother got sick was enough in my busy life.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that they keep my property pest free, and don't pester me too much, only two of them come inside and they're still about half wild and that is good in case they ever have to make it on their own again.
If things get really bad cats will have a better time of it than dogs will. Dogs have gotten very independent on humans but cats have retained their hunting instincts.
And of course, any culture will turn to eating dogs if they are starving.
Thanks for the link to the heartwarming story -- just in time for Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Nan.
