A movie recommendation

Amazing Grace. I rejoined Netflix recently; this was the second DVD they sent me. I watched it last night, and I'm still tearing up. I highly recommend this film to anyone who thinks individual activists cannot change the world.

  2. Well, it appears to be a movie made to push Christianity so I'm not going to watch it. They are very good at pushing that but I'm not buying into it, Jesus himself wouldn't have anything to do with so called christians.

We can have a good spirituality on this planet without shoving a religion down others gullets.

  3. It's not pushing Christianity. It's the story of the British politician who dedicated his career back in the late 18th century, early 19th century (from about the time of the American Revolution to around the time of the war of 1812) to ending slavery in Great Britain and all of its colonies.

  4. You know what makes William Wilberforce unique?

He's the only famous white abolitionist with only two names.

Think about it: William Lloyd Garrison, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Thomas Wentworth Higginson, Louisa May Alcott, Henry Ward Beecher, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau...

    Was it a club rule?

  5. Re: my movie recommendation. "Amazing Grace" doesn't push religion.

Oh, well it is a good song, I've even sung it at karaoke at times.
