A product endorsement

Behold the FURminator. This thing actually works. I just removed enough fur from one of my cats to build two or three additional varmints. And Cleo loves it! She stood there making little happy noises as I removed more fur in less time than I would have thought was possible short of shaving her. The same cannot be said of the previous brush (and I have the scars to prove it).

It comes in multiple sizes so dog owners can acquire one scaled appropriately up. I got mine from the Cat Faeries but shop around -- lots of places are selling it, including local veterinarians (which is how I first heard about it). You might be able to find a better price than I did.

Am I the only person who wonders how cats can shed constantly but never go bald?

  1. I hear they're good for short-haired dogs, too, but the consensus in Newfoundland circles is that when you really need something serious, the Mars Coat King has it all over the Furminator.

  3. Thank you, Nan!!! I have got to get one of those. I'm going to the vet today to pick up some prescription cat food so I'm going to see if they have one!

  4. I've seen those at the pet store but the price has scared me off. But if it truly works ... it's priceless! Thanks for the heads-up!

  5. I think the price would have scared me more if I hadn't heard other cat owners rave about it.

  6. Once in a while I will brush one of the cats with a hair brush, but not often. They don't demand a lot of attention from me. I'm pretty much just here to feed them and provide places for them to sleep.

I enjoy having them around but don't have much time to give them attention.

They are short haired and I don't notice much hair here, but they are outside a lot and mostly only come to sleep in the winter.

  7. Dogs too. My vacuum cleaner is always full of dog hair/fur. And Cyrus acts like I'm trying to kill him when I brush him. Thanks for the tip.
