You know the economy's bad

when Santa loses his job. Headline in this morning's Washington Post:

Longtime Mall Santa Out in the Cold

The poor sap thought he had a long term contract, but of course (as usual) it was employment at will on the part of the mall. . . and they didn't even have the decency to tell him he was being replaced. He found out when he called to confirm the starting date for this season.

Anyone want to bet his replacement is going to phone it in from Bangalore?

  1. I'm still doing just fine, I'll keep doing just fine, I've always done just fine. For sixty-five years I've done just fine.

At times I lived in little shelters while building something better, but I was just fine with it.

Yup, I don't give a rats ass who is running this country in the long run I guess, I will still keep on doing just fine and being thankful for what I have.

It may only be a roof over my head and some food each day, but I'll be just fine with it. That is why I don't have a mate, they want so fucking much when I'll be okay with it if I don't even have a car.

  2. It's not the economy, stupid, it's all the fancy things you all want.

  3. Why is it BBC is such a boring old coot? He says some version of exactly the same thing everywhere he goes--"yer stupid and I'm doin fine, and I hates the fat women and all politicians are the same" it's the same basic message everywhere. I have followed him home to see where he lives and it isn't much of anything but a place from which to troll the blogs-- mostly the women's blogs.

    Sorry, what were you saying?
Oh yes, blocking the YouTubes. They are on to you Nan, best be circumspect in you work day blogging.

  4. Sorry dear wrong post. I'd be very surprised if Santa is seen anywhere. Santa is no longer a necessity he is a luxury.
